UC Merced graduate student Brandi McKuin recently returned from a trip to India, where she spent time studying the energy needs of rural villages that have been told by their government that they’ll never get electricity.

UC Merced may still be a young campus, but that doesn't prevent its students from striving for audacious goals. One enterprising group of students aspires to change the face of how diabetes is managed in the Merced area.

A team of UC Merced undergraduates are studying the relationships developing between U.S. cities and states and those in foreign countries for the U.S. Department of State.

Organized by junior Diana Franklin — the Associated Students of UC Merced's Commissioner of Sustainability — the five-day fete will begin with a kickoff event on April 18 and culminate on Earth Day, April 22.

Junior Aki Chambers has been there for every stage of men's basketball at UC Merced. He played intramural basketball as a freshman, then started the men's club team with fellow student Daniel Castillo.

Whether it's through art, film, literature, education, civil rights, food, or music, events planned for the month of February are a way to commemorate Black History Month and celebrate the achievements and contributions of black people to American society.

A group of female students at UC Merced are determined to show that their college home is more cosmopolitan than many others might think. And they're doing it through fashion, with a plan to benefit neighbors in need.
