The Department of Animal Research Services (DARS) is composed of a team of professionals committed to the advancement of science in collaboration with the research community by promoting the humane care and use of animals used in biomedical research and teaching.

DARS manages the facilities in which animals are maintained for teaching and research programs at the university, and provides a full-spectrum of animal care and services, including acquisition of equipment and supplies; acquiring and disposing of animals; consulting; and veterinary services.
