Student Services Available in Aftermath of Incident

With the exception of the Classroom and Office Building, restricted access to the UC Merced campus has been lifted. Classes are canceled for today but will resume on Friday, Nov. 5. 

Meanwhile, the Division of Student Affairs has released the following information regarding student services available today and Friday:

Thursday, Nov. 5

  • Dining Commons hours of operation are: 7-10 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 4-9 p.m.
  • The Marketplace is open from 10 a.m. to midnight
  • The Joseph E. Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The Students First Center is taking calls from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 209-228-7178. General inquiries can be received from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 209-228-4400. 
  • Fresno State football game — UC Merced has chartered five buses to transport students to tonight’s Fresno State football game. Students should gather at 5 p.m. at Lake Lot 1. Buses depart at 5:30 p.m. with the game starting at 7:30 p.m. Buses will return to campus by midnight. Students need to bring their CatCard ID for entry into the game. Please dress warmly. Friday, Nov. 6

  • The Associated Students of UC Merced and Graduate Student Association are coordinating a vigil for Friday. More details will be made available.
  • The Yablokoff-Wallace Dining Center, Marketplace, Lantern Café and Campus Store will resume regular hours of operation.
  • The Joseph E. Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center and the Student Activities and Athletic Center (SAAC) will resume regular hours of operation in the gym and first floor of SAAC.
  • The Students First Center will reopen and resume regular hours of operation.
