Grammy-Winning Drummer Antonio Sanchez to Perform Free Concert in Merced

Antonio Sanchez broke new ground for musical storytelling with his award-winning soundtrack for “Birdman.” He’s earned multiple Grammys for his work with guitar master Pat Metheny. Now, Sanchez, one of the most acclaimed drummers and composers in jazz today, is heading to Merced for a one-night performance.

Concert Series Slated for Merced in 2020

A collaboration among the city of Merced, community members and the University of California Merced is bringing a little night music back to the Merced Open Air Theater.

Friday evening concerts will begin at the outdoor half-shell, in Applegate Park, starting in summer 2020.

Goal achieved! UC Merced supporters turned out in force on Giving Tuesday with a record number of donors contributing to campus scholarships and fellowships.

More than 1,300 individuals donated during the 24-hour Give Tue UC Merced campaign on Dec. 3, surpassing the event’s goal of 1,000 donors.

The three are among the scores of UC Merced undergraduates whose studies are backed by the Build the Future Scholarship Fund, which is supported by donations collected during Give Tue UC Merced.

Men's Soccer Wins Cal Pac Title

The UC Merced men's soccer team won their second straight California Pacific Conference title and earned an automatic berth to the 2019 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.

The team will be the top seed in the California Pacific Conference Championship Tournament that kicks off at Bobcat Field this week. The Bobcats will play on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.

UC Merced Hosts Voter Registration and Census Festival, Welcomes Padilla

UC Merced hosted the National Voter Registration and Census Festival Monday, with more than 200 students registering for next year’s election.

The university partnered with the Latino Community Foundation and Secretary of State Alex Padilla for the event. Merced County Elections Department assisted with voter registration.
