Bobcats Make History with First Win

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC7z3txAcz8The UC Merced women’s volleyball team made history Thursday night, earning the school’s first victory in any sport at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics level.

The match would have been historic regardless, as the Golden Bobcats were playing their first home sporting event. But they made the night even sweeter with a 25-16, 27-25, 20-25, 25-18 win over Pacific Union College in their California Pacific Conference debut.

Campus Gears Up to Host First Varsity Sporting Events

 

The University of California, Merced, will celebrate the first varsity sporting events on campus next week, with the women’s volleyball team playing its home opener on Sept. 22 and an Athletics Kickoff Tailgate event prior to their game on Sept. 24.
