Former Lt. Gov. to Speak at UC Merced Commencement

Former California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante will deliver the keynote address at the University of California, Merced’s commencement on May 12.

Bustamante, who was at one time the nation's highest ranking Latino elected official, will speak to some 788 students eligible to graduate from UC Merced this spring, along with their families and friends.

Citi Gift a Boost for Parent Support

The University of California, Merced, has announced a $33,000 donation from Citi to support its Center for Educational Partnership's Parent Empowerment Program — $10,000 will fund the continued support of high schools in Madera and $23,000 will be used to start a new program in Stanislaus County at Grace Davis, Modesto and Turlock high schools.
