When students walk across the stage at this weekend’s commencement ceremonies at the University of California, Merced, they will join the nearly 4,000 scholars who have earned degrees from the university, while marking yet another campus milestone as the campus’s 10th graduating class.
From the moment students walk onto campus, they have access to countless resources, including the Peer Assisted Support Learning Support (PALS) program, which is part of the Calvin E. Bright Success Center.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to stop by the California Room from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on April 22 to learn more about the services PALS provides and enjoy food, games and prizes. Learning assistants and staff members will be available to talk about the program’s resources.
The University of California, Merced, has spent the past decade blazing a trail as the nation’s first research university of the 21st century, and its students are no different. In May, the campus’s 10th graduating class will hear keynote addresses from academic leaders who are equally innovative and inspiring.
For the first time, U.S. News & World Report has ranked two of UC Merced’s graduate programs, a sure sign that the young university’s reputation is beginning to build.
