Reporting on Research
UC Merced recognizes the vital role of the media in educating the community about how the university conducts research.
The Research Day Media Tour is designed to introduce reporters and photographers to UC Merced’s stellar faculty and their cutting-edge work, from stem cell research to robotics to immigration studies. To facilitate communication, this event is open only to representatives of recognized media outlets.
Designated laboratories will be open for photographers and camera crews, and professors and students will be on hand to explain their work.
This tour will expand the usefulness of your visit to UC Merced for Research Day. Not only will you be able to report on the activities of the day, but you will have a chance to make contacts, take B-roll footage, and gain ideas for future stories about research at UC Merced.
The Media Research Tour will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 16. For more information, please contact Ana Nelson Shaw in the Office of Communications.
