Professor Ignacio López-Calvo is an expert in literature and culture of the Hispanic/Latino World, particularly Latin American and Caribbean literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. His research focuses on trans-Pacific studies and the intersection between racialization, migration, authoritarianism, and human rights. A native of Spain, López-Calvo is also an expert on that country’s literature and culture. His last books deal with Latino Los Angeles's film and fiction, and the cultural production of authors of Asian descent in Latin America and the Caribbean. López-Calvo is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He is a professor of Latin American literature.
