Memristor Technology Pioneers to Gather at Symposium

October 23, 2008

Memristors and memristive systems represent an exciting frontier
in electrical and computer engineering and may hold important
potential for applications like nanoscale computing and artificial
neural networks.

The pioneers of memristor technology will speak at a symposium
on Friday, November 21, co-sponsored by the University of
California, Merced, and UC Berkeley.

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the event will take
place in the Sibley Auditorium in Bechtel Hall at Berkeley.
Participants include the following experts in memristor technology:

* Steve Kang, UC Merced

* Pinaki Mazumder, NSF program director

* Stuart Russell, UC Berkeley

* Leon Chua, UC Berkeley (presenter)

* Rainer Waser, RWTH Aachen University (presenter)

* Stan Williams, Hewlett Packard (presenter)

* Wolfgang Porod, Notre Dame (presenter)

* Pushkar Apte, Semiconductor Industry Association (panelist)

* Jeff Welser, Semiconductor Research Corporation (panelist)

The all-day program will include lunch.
