New Faculty to Further Strengthen Research, Academic Programs

UC Merced has added 26 new faculty members this year, giving the campus more than 150 ladder-rank professors. The campus has 1,200 staff and faculty members, not including student employees.

The faculty hires reflect areas of rapid enrollment growth, greatest potential for interdisciplinary collaboration, research potential and other factors aligned with the university’s strategic academic vision and long-term mission.

The new faculty members and their areas of concentration are:
