CARE Office Moves to New Location in Library

July 9, 2015

CARE Office logoThe Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) Office has moved to a new location in the Leo and Dottie Kolligian Library, Room 107. Students and staff and faculty members are invited to an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. on July 10.

The CARE Office — formerly called the Violence Prevention Program — provides response to and education about gender-based violence, including sexual violence, domestic/dating violence and stalking. From its new centrally located space, CARE will continue to serve all UC Merced students, staff and faculty members, and build on its current momentum to mobilize students and community members to take action to prevent sexual violence.

In April, the CARE Office unveiled its new visual identity to go along with its new name. It was designed by UC Merced staff member Onar Primitivo during a month-long logo contest.

In addition to visiting the office in person, individuals seeking support can contact the campus advocate at 209-386-2051 to talk over the phone or arrange a meeting at another location. The Valley Crisis Center 24-hour hotline, 209-722-4357, is another free and confidential resource.
