Local AARP Supports Student Success with Scholarship

UC Merced offers a new scholarship to Merced County high school graduates, thanks to a $25,000 endowment from the local AARP chapter. 

The AARP Merced Chapter No. 282 Scholarship Endowed Fund supports undergraduate students at UC Merced who have at least a 3.5 GPA or higher, show financial need and who have supported community service projects. Each scholarship will be at least $1,000 per year.

Campus Ranks Among "Cool Schools" for Commitment to Sustainability

UC Merced has been ranked among the “Cool Schools” by the Sierra Club’s Sierra Magazine because of its commitment to sustainability.

The ranking, which was released this week, looked at more than 170 campuses around the country. UC Merced is ranked No. 51. All of the UC undergraduate campuses made the list, with UC Irvine ranking No. 1.
