UC Merced Staff Assembly

The UC Merced Staff Assembly is officially recognized by the Office of the Chancellor as an independent advisory body to the university administration on issues of concern to staff. The purpose of the Staff Assembly is to promote effective communication between campus employees, to participate in decision-making on issues and matters of interest to staff, to foster professional contacts and mentoring among staff, to recognize and celebrate the rich diversity of backgrounds and contributions that staff offer in support of the university’s mission, and to encourage professional growth and advancement. The UC Merced Staff Assembly does not function as a collective bargaining unit.

Staff Member to Win $500


The UC Merced Staff Assembly is pleased to announce its 2008 Staff Excellence Award Program. The purpose of the program is to acknowledge and celebrate achievements and meritorious service of career staff. Five awards will be made this year, and each recipient will receive $500 and a certificate. The awards will be presented at the Staff Appreciation Picnic on Friday, June 6.

The nomination deadline is April 11 at 4 p.m. Staff, faculty and students are encouraged to nominate a staff member for this prestigious award.

CUCSA Mission

In support of the mission of the University of California it is the purpose of the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) to maintain and enhance communication within the university community on matters of interest to staff employees in accordance with California laws and policy of the Regents.

The constituency of the Council includes staff employees of the University of California. This mission is accomplished by providing a forum where university staff may discuss university related issues of mutual interest and by providing information and staff perspective to campus leaders and others on policies, processes, or other matters of mutual interest. The organization promotes civility in the workplace, effective communication, and continuous collaboration among staff and other members of the university community.
