UC Merced/UC Berkeley Extension announce fall 2009 courses in Fresno

FRESNO, CA - UC Merced and UC Berkeley Extension today (July 30)
announced the fall 2009 schedule of classes to be offered in Fresno.

Fall offerings at UC Merced’s Fresno Center will include
professional courses, such as drug treatment counseling for women,
psychology of weight reduction, career opportunities in
biotechnology, essentials of human resources, paralegal studies,
project management, advanced computer systems and programming,
fundamentals of green building, implementing LEED 2009 strategies,
and solar energy.

Enrollment for fall 2009 extension courses is now open. The fall
semester begins Sept. 1.

An information session is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 6
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the UC Merced Center, located at 550 E. Shaw
Ave. in Fresno. The session is a free, no obligation opportunity
for prospective students to learn more about the courses, meet some
of the instructors and talk to other students.

UC Merced and UC Berkeley Extension announced their unique
partnership to offer continuing education courses to adults in the
San Joaquin Valley last February, and began offering courses in
Fresno this summer.

The partnership pairs the University of California’s original
campus with the system’s newest research university to meet the
educational needs of Valley residents, whether they are interested
in advancing professionally, looking to start a new career or
learning a new skill.

and continuing education to the broader community since 1891. UC
